My client was injured when she was walking in the grounds of her residential home in Woodbridge, Suffolk. It transpired that there were large holes in one of the walking lawns that the owner had failed to fill in or level.
The owner admitted liability for the accident and expert medical evidence was then obtained from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and a consultant dermatologist to report on the leg fracture, other soft tissue injuries and exacerbated discoid eczema caused by the accident.
In addition, my client had been very dependent upon support from a close friend during the immediate post-accident period as she was immobile for some time as a result of her injuries. Therefore, the compensation recovered included damages to reflect that additional time as well as the costs of other expenses incurred as a result of the accident including treatment and consultation fees.
After all of the necessary evidence had been obtained, we were able to negotiate a settlement of nearly £13,500 on behalf of my client.
