Thousands of motor and cycling accidents occur on our Suffolk roads each year. The stats show that there are on average over 5,000 RTA’s in our region each year and that doesn’t include those that go unreported. In the vast majority of those accidents, someone will be at fault and, if you have been injured in such an accident, it is important that you instruct a local solicitor to assist you in obtaining all necessary medical evidence, treatment and interim payments before ensuring that you receive final compensation that reflects the actual pain, suffering and losses experienced and incurred.
Many people will deal with such claims through their insurer’s law firm (who they never even meet) or, worse still, through the other driver’s insurer (who will do everything possible to pay as little as possible).
I am regularly contacted by injured victims who have been poorly represented by a factory-style claims firm or unfairly treated by the insurance company. Unfortunately, if you have already instructed a solicitor, it is usually very hard to then instruct someone else unless you have a valid complaint upheld.
If you have been injured in a road traffic accident caused by someone else’s negligence and have not yet made a claim, a local lawyer should always be happy to provide a free assessment of your case with a view to then taking it on under the terms of a no win no fee agreement which will fully protect you against any risk of having to pay any money out of your own pocket.
At a time when insurers and the government are relentlessly trying to make injured victims feel guilty for making claims, it is important that you get legal representation from a lawyer who understands the impact that these accidents can have and who is experienced in recovering the compensation that victims deserve after such accidents.
